#3 Stanford
- The long-ball was the product of Oregon’s downfall in the opening game against the conference leading Stanford Cardinal. Sophomore right-hander Cullen Kafka gave up five runs off three homers in his team-leading 10th start of the season. Kafka only allowed 7 hits over his 5.2 innings pitched, but left a few mistakes over the plate and the Cardinal capitalized.
- Ducks’ center-fielder Jonny DeLuca got the party started taking a 1st inning lead. DeLuca smacked a ground-rule RBI double to opposite field scoring third-baseman Sam Novitske; halting left-fielder Tanner Smith at third, only plating one runner in the inning.
