In many ways this game was a tale of two halves. In the first half Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel struggled, especially in the red zone, but the running game allowed the Ducks to dominate play overall. Gabriel began to look more like himself in the final drive of the first half. After going down by 21 points, Michigan State looked to jump start their offense using designed runs for QB Aidan Chiles. These plays were quite successful in their two drives before garbage time. However, problems in pass protection meant that the Spartans never scored against Oregon’s defensive starters.
