While the pick-six at the end of the first half kept the score relatively close until fourth quarter, in hindsight the outcome of this game was never truly in doubt. UCLA’s offense only mustered two full field drives. The first was their opening drive of the game that ended in a field goal. The second was their last drive before garbage time when they failed to convert 4th down from the Duck’s 45 yard line. In between they mustered only a single, very long, field goal. As such, despite the scoring drought for Oregon’s offense coming out of halftime, the Bruins were never going to have a chance without multiple turnovers or special teams gaffes helping them.
