As a fan, it was a pleasure to watch the Ducks’ offense put the game into garbage time in the fourth quarter. As an analyst, it actually caused some difficulty interpreting the results of the film charting.
Of the Beavers’ four possessions in the first half, two were methodical full field drives and resulted in touchdowns. The other two stalled out only because of unforced errors by Oregon State (a false start on 4th-and-1 and difficulties handling the snap when they rotated in their developing young QB). After halftime Oregon forced two three and outs, and with the Ducks’ scoring on all of their first seven possessions the game was effectively over.
