In most aspects this game was the dual case of Oregon’s previous game against Maryland. Against Wisconsin an irrational play calling strategy on offense (detailed below) kept the game closer than it needed to be whereas against the Terrapins it was an irrational defensive play calling strategy. Extenuating factors that favored the Ducks last week (playing at Autzen, good turnover luck, and a successful fake punt) went against them on Saturday (being at Badger Stadium, even turnover margin, and a failed fake field goal) and the result was a frighteningly close victory.
