Duck Tape: Film Analysis of Oregon @ Michigan

Determining the garbage time cut off for this game was a bit tricky. Firstly, without the fumbled punt return, the score would most likely have been 28-3 at halftime and clearly the second half wouldnot have been representative play. The Oregon staff must have agreed Michigan didn’t have the kind of offense needed to overcome a second half deficit as they noticeably changed their play calling beginning in the third quarter. The run/pass splits for the Ducks’ offense were 16/23 in the first half and 21/12 in the second half. Additionally, the average time between plays increased from about 25 seconds in the first half to almost 30 seconds in the second half.
