The 2021 season is the anomaly in an otherwise consistent pattern of good OC hires producing good offenses and records, and bad OC hires producing bad offenses and mediocre records (a consistently strong defense and superior talent to most of the rest of the conference sets a high floor for the Nittany Lions even in their off years).
