Oregon softball opened their first game of the NCAA tournament against an unknown opponent in the Boston Terriers. The Terriers were ranked and had the NCAA’s longest active win streak, but for the most part that was not against P5 programs. Would Boston be capable of posing a threat to the Ducks?
Oregon’s 8-0 run rule victory answered that question.
Elise Sokolsky took the circle against Boston. Sokolsky pitched a gem of a shutout, and was in complete control all game, allowing only two hits with one walk and three Ks. Oregon’s defense was also on their game, committing no errors in this opening match.
