EUGENE -- In a battle of 7-footers, Oregon freshman phenom Bol Bol was outclassed by Texas Southern fifth-year senior Trayvon Reed.
Despite a career-high 32 points from Bol, No. 18 Oregon could not generate enough other offense or defend Reed, whose career-high 23 points set the stage for a stunning 89-84 win by Texas Southern, a 25-point underdog, at Matthew Knight Arena on Monday.
It was the first 30-point game and third straight 20-plus point game for Bol.
Despite a 1 for 11 stretch from the field by Oregon, Texas Southern failed to fully capitalize, going 3 for 15 in the same span and only cutting an eight-point (28-20) deficit to three (30-27).
