One of the major storylines heading into Monday's Boston Marathon is the long dry spell for U.S. women.
The last time a U.S. woman won the race was a generation ago when Lisa Larsen Weidenbach -- now Lisa Rainsberger -- claimed the title in 1985.
Rainsberger is the mom of University of Oregon freshman star Katie Rainsberger.
But two-time U.S. Olympian Desiree Linden has been knocking on the door since 2011, and this could be Linden's year.
