There's no questioning Oregon's elite status when the Ducks have the basketball.
Entering games Saturday around the nation, UO women's basketball ranked third nationally with 92.2 points per game, and fifth among the 349 Division-I programs with a shooting percentage of 53.1. Give the Ducks the ball, and look out.
When the Ducks don't have possession, though, they're merely good. Oregon is allowing 58 points per game, tied for 81st in the nation. And opponents are shooting 37.9 percent, which ranks 133rd.
That disparity hasn't stopped third-ranked Oregon from opening this season 6-0. But with a grueling Pac-12 season on the horizon, not to mention looming nonconference battles with the likes of Michigan State and Mississippi State, the Ducks would like to shrink the gap between their offense and defense.
