CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -- The 7th-ranked Oregon softball team came back from a 7-0 deficit to defeat No. 17 Missouri, 8-7, in eight innings Saturday night at the Mary Nutter Classic. Gwen Svekis recorded the game-winning RBI single that brought Hailey Decker home.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Tigers (8-2) jumped out all over the Ducks (11-4) early on plating six runs in the first two innings and then adding another one in the top of the fourth. Oregon’s offense had left much to be desired in the first three innings, but a lead-off single from Nikki Udria that clipped Missouri pitcher, Paige Lowary, in the bottom of the fourth changed the course of the game.
