Colt Lyerla has been given opportunities to turn his life around. He had a chance with the Green Bay Packers, but injury derailed the opportunity. He was a top athlete when he arrived with the Oregon Ducks under then Head Coach Chip Kelly, but Lyerla took his opportunity to play for granted getting involved in drugs. Several years later the storyline which could be different, is still the same.
Last Monday, Lyerla was arrested for heroin possession and forgery according to the Daily Emerald. He is being held in jail in Hillsboro, Oregon. Coming off a year that saw the former Ducks Tight End just convicted last month for a felony drug conviction.
