EUGENE, Ore. -- David Peterson dominated for the second straight start to lead Oregon to a 2-1 non-conference win over Santa Clara on Friday night at PK Park.
How it Happened: Peterson (3-1) struck out 14 batters while walking just one and scattering three hits over 7.1 innings. Peterson retired 11 of the first 12 batters he faced and struck out the side in two innings. Kenyon Yovan pitched 1.2 innings in relief, striking out four and giving up one unearned run to earn his fourth save.
Jake Bennett drove in both of Oregon's runs with a third inning RBI groundout and a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning.
