CORVALLIS -- On a day when Oregon needed to lean almost entirely on its run game, CJ Verdell and Travis Dye were there to shoulder the load.
Verdell had 23 carries for a career-high 187 yards and four touchdowns and a 21-yard touchdown catch and Dye had 33 carries for 199 yards and two scores to lead Oregon to a season-high rushing in a 55-15 beatdown of rival Oregon State in the Civil War at Reser Stadium on Friday.
Verdell was the first Oregon player with four rushing touchdowns in a game since Royce Freeman had four rushing scores against Arizona last season.
