Multiple reports say UCLA coach Chip Kelly has offered ex-Oregon coach Mark Helfrich a job as the Bruins' offensive coordinator.
The O's Andrew Greif has the story.
Should Helfrich become OC in Westwood, it would recreate the brain trust that led the Oregon offense to a 46-7 record between 2009 and 2012. That span included two trips to the Rose Bowl, one to the Fiesta Bowl and one to the national championship game.
After Helfrich succeeded Kelly as coach, he went 37-16, and took the Ducks to the national title game in 2014.
Helfrich's four-year run as Oregon's head guy ended badly.
