EUGENE, Ore. – A phenomenal spring season for Briana Chacon was rewarded on Friday as the sophomore was named a second-team all-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
Chacon makes history as the just the fourth Oregon women's golfer ever to earn WGCA all-America honors, and only the third to land on the first or second team. Paula Patterson was Oregon's lone first-team selection in 1997, Cassy Isagawa received second-team honors in 2012 and honorable mention in 2013, and current sophomore Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen earned honorable mention recognition last season as a freshman.
