PHOENIX – Briana Chacon fired a 3-under 69 and Tze-Han (Heather) Lin made 17 pars for a bogey-free 71 on Friday to lead the Oregon women's golf team to a strong opening round in the PING/ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Course.
The No. 2 Ducks closed the day with a 2-under 286, finishing round one in a three-way tie for third place with No. 18 Baylor and Northwestern. No. 9 Arizona State is the 18-hole leader at 8-under par on its home course, and Oregon is one stroke back of top-ranked Stanford (-3) for second place.
