DES MOINES, Iowa - Former Oregon track and field standout Matthew Centrowitz used a great finish to win his fifth U.S. title in the 1,500 meters Saturday in the USATF Outdoor Championships at Drake Stadium.
Centrowitz's victory headlined the third day of competition for a big group of past and current Ducks. The meet will conclude on Sunday, with action airing live on NBC for two hours beginning at 1 p.m. PT.
How it Happened: Centrowitz, who was looking to reclaim the U.S. title after battling through injury last season, ran towards the back of the pack for a good portion of the race before moving into third with 400 meters to go.
