CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Ariel Carlson hit two homers in an eight-run fourth inning to lead No. 12 Oregon past Penn State, 12-4 in five innings, Friday at the Carolina Classic. Carlson, who had two of the Ducks' four home runs on the day, homered for the third consecutive game.
Oregon scored eight runs in an inning for the second straight day; the Ducks had eight runs in the 10th inning Thursday at UNC Greensboro.
"I think it shows just how good our chemistry is as a team and how contagious hitting is," said Carlson, who has raised her batting average 112 points during her current five-game hitting streak.
