After the University of Oregon's disappointing loss a couple of weeks ago at Washington State, the UO media relations staff set up the usual green canvas-style backdrop in the Cougars' weight room and put a folding table and chairs in front of it. To the public, football coach Mario Cristobal appeared as a lot of coaches do after games. But just outside the frame of the cameras, there were stacks of weights, barbells and other fitness equipment.
Cristobal dead-lifted the questions. Nearby, Ducks Athletic Director Rob Mullens leaned on a squat rack and listened in like a spotter.
