CHICAGO – University of Oregon senior DeForest Buckner has been selected to the Ted Hendricks Award midseason watch list, the annual award’s foundation announced Tuesday.
Buckner, a defensive end from Waianae, Hawaii, leads the Ducks and currently ranks second in the Pac-12 in sacks (5.0) and third in tackles for loss (9.0). He is also tied for the most passes broken up by a defensive lineman in the conference with four.
Oregon’s third-leading tackler with 36, Buckner is one of three Pac-12 players on the 32-man midseason list.
The Ted Hendricks Award is named for college football’s first three-time first-team All-American and celebrates the top defensive end in the country.
