EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon baseball landed the eighth-best recruiting class in 2015 according to Collegiate Baseball’s annual evaluation of NCAA Division I baseball classes.
The Ducks’ class features 17 recruits, including 16 freshmen. Infielders Travis Moniot, a 34th-round pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, and Matt Kroon, a 38th-round pick, highlight the Ducks’ class.
Moniot, a four-year letterman at Palm Desert High School in Palm Desert, Calif., hit .441 as a senior with one home run, nine doubles and 20 RBI on his way to being named league MVP. Moniot earned first-team all-state recognition after his junior and senior seasons.
