The #9 Oregon Ducks played host to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday afternoon in the second of a three-game series, but things did not go as planned. The Ducks bats were awfully quiet on Saturday, only managing to nab two hits on the day. Rutgers, meanwhile, had no such struggles. The Scarlet Knights were able to knock around the Oregon pitching staff to the tune of 8 runs on 11 hits, in a game that the Ducks will surely look to forget as soon as possible.
Rutgers kicked off their romp in the 3rd inning with a three-run bomb to right center, added a run in the 6th on an RBI groundout to the pitcher, and then added another 4 runs in the 7th inning off of a single to left and a double down the right field line.
