EUGENE, Oregon— Someone needs to put Oregon’s offense on the side of a milk carton, as it’s definitely gone missing.
The Ducks were shutout for the first time this season, managing just three hits in dropping the Civil War series finale to the number one ranked Oregon State Beavers in an ignominious fashion Saturday by the final score of 1-0.
Beaver starter Jake Thompson (11-0) buzzed through the Oregon offense like so many poplar sapplings, allowing just three hits while striking out five and walking two in his six-and-two-thirds scoreless innings of work. Brandon Eisert picked up where Thompson left off, pitching two-and-one-third innings of hitless relief to pick up his fourth save of the season.
