Ashton Eaton may be retired from Olympic and professional track and field competition, but that doesn't mean he has put his athletic talents to rest.
At the annual Prineville Splash n' Dash multisport event, racegoers in Central Oregon were treated to a familiar face taking part in the competition when the two-time Olympic decathlon gold medalist showed up.
The Bend Bulletin reports that Eaton, 29, didn't even know he was going to compete in the event until 5 days before the race. Eaton's former high school track coach Tate Metcalf and his wife, Aimee, conspired with Eaton's wife, Brianne Theisen-Eaton, to enter his name into the competition under the pseudonym "Cash Money" and told him about it just days before the race was to take place.
