Last week, Travis Jonsen traveled from Eugene to Coronado, California, across San Diego Bay from the city's downtown, to work as a counselor at a quarterback camp.
Traveling long distances to work with coach Steve Clarkson is nothing new for Jonsen, the former four-star recruit now entering his sophomore season at Oregon.
As a teen in Southern California, Jonsen -- who then went by Travis Waller -- went to high school in Anaheim and lived in neighboring Fullerton. But he spent almost every Sunday morning at a high school north of downtown Los Angeles, at least a 45-minute drive each-way, working with Clarkson, a notable coach in the blossoming industry of private quarterback instruction.
