For several weeks to open the 2015 season, the Ducks looked like the program's best hope of making it to Omaha since its reboot in 2009. Then, a 13-2 start to nonconference play went sideways the first week of the Pac-12 schedule.
Oregon went 5-10 to open conference play. The starting pitching was erratic, the defense suspect, the offense inconsistent. The Ducks hit bottom at Southern California the penultimate weekend of April.
