EUGENE, Ore. — Friday night's Oregon Twilight meet, coming on the weekend postseason competition began for the UO track and field programs, turned into a celebration of the relationship between the Ducks, the community known as Track Town USA, and the hallowed venue that has hosted them for decades.
With a handful of UO athletes getting set to open Pac-12 Championship competition in the multi-events at Stanford this weekend, some of their teammates had one last chance Friday to clinch spots on the championship roster. But mostly, Friday was a chance to celebrate the star-studded group of alumni who returned for the Twilight, and one last regular-season meet at Hayward Field before its reconfiguration.
