The defending-champion Alabama Crimson Tide topped the preseason college football coaches' rankings released Thursday.
Alabama received 61 of 65 first-place votes in the Amway Coaches Poll, with No. 2 Clemson garnering three first-place votes and No. 3 Ohio State receiving one.
Georgia and Oklahoma round out the top five, with No. 6 Washington the highest-ranked Pac-12 team. Stanford came in at No. 13, followed by USC at No. 15.
Mario Cristobal's Oregon Ducks did not crack the top 25 but were the third team listed in the "others receiving votes" category.
