EUGENE -- A fast start offensively was nearly for naught as Oregon allowed Arizona State to stay within striking distance and nearly let a 15-point lead evaporate due to four turnovers.
The Ducks held on for a 31-29 win over the Sun Devils at Autzen Stadium on Saturday, but it was the defense that delivered the knockout blow after the offense built a two-score lead but committed three of Oregon's four giveaways.
"It's extremely frustrating," Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said. "On one of them we had a play called that's going to be a touchdown and we turned it over.
