EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon starting pitcher Matt Krook has been named Louisville Slugger preseason third-team All-America by Collegiate Baseball.
Krook (San Mateo, Calif.) was named to the team despite missing the entire 2015 season after injuring his elbow and having Tommy John surgery. The 6-foot-3 left-handed pitcher was Oregon’s Saturday starter in 2014 before suffering the injury at Washington on April 5 which forced him to also miss the remainder of that season. Before being sidelined, Krook compiled a 2-1 record with a 1.79 ERA in eight starts. He struck out 60 batters in 45.
