15 Ducks Playing Summer Ball

EUGENE, Ore – Fifteen players from Oregon’s 2016 baseball team who are expected to be a part of next year’s team are competing in summer wooden bat leagues around the country this summer.

Highlighting the list is left-handed pitcher David Peterson, who will play for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Peterson, who is expected to return to anchor the Ducks’ starting rotation in 2017, will compete for some familiar faces in the coming months, as head coach George Horton will manage the club and pitching coach Mitch Karraker will serve as the bullpen coach.

Of the remaining 14 Ducks competing in summer ball, three are competing in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, five are playing in the Great West League, two are in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, two Ducks are playing in the Northwoods League and one playing in the California Collegiate League and the West Coast Collegiate League.
