The Oregon Ducks finished the regular season with six straight wins, and while their slow start took them out of contention for a College Football Playoff berth or a Pac-12 title, they'll still end up in a very good bowl game. Here are Oregon's three most likely destinations this bowl season:
National University Holiday Bowl (Big Ten vs. Pac-12)
Wed., Dec. 30, 10:30 pm ET
Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, CA
If Oregon is the second highest-ranked Pac-12 team and could be in a New Year's Six bowl, but if not, the Holiday Bowl would likely come calling. Of all the other high-end non-New Year's Six options, the Holiday Bowl gives Oregon a chance to stay on the West Coast and play another high quality team (probabaly Wisconsin).
Valero Alamo Bowl (Big 12 vs. Pac-12)
Sat., Jan. 2, 6:45 pm ET
Alamodome, San Antonio, TX
Perhaps the most prestigious of the non-New Year's Six bowl games the Pac-12 is eligible for, the Alamo Bowl gives Oregon a chance to play in a primetime spot on a Saturday. The Ducks went to the Alamo Bowl in 2013 with a 10-2 record, and it seems rather likely that they'll return if they don't finish high enough in the College Football Playoff rankings.
Fiesta Bowl (At-Large vs. At-Large)
Fri., Jan. 1, 1:00 pm ET
Univ. of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, AZ
Oregon needs help to make a New Year's Six bowl game, but if they get there, they'll likely end up in the Fiesta Bowl. The other at-large option is the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, but the selection committee would likely keep the Ducks closer to home in Arizona. All things considered, this would be a great end to Oregon's season.
