The Oregon Ducks are hosting several top-tier recruits for Saturday's huge home contest against the Stanford Cardinal, but none more important than #1 ranked cornerback Kendall Sheffield out of Marshall High School (Texas).
Sheffield is also the #8 player overall in the country according to Scout.com, possessing a unique skill set that would help the Ducks' secondary tremendously after senior Ifo Ekpre-Olomu graduates in the spring.
Per Scout.com's profile on the dynamic cornerback, "Sheffield is a blistering fast prospect, posting an elite laser-time of 4.36 in the 40-yard dash. He is the type of corner who has the size and the skill set to develop in to a guy you can put out on the island and play one-on-one against the other team's most dangerous weapon at receiver. He is not the most physical player on the defense, but has quickness in and out of his breaks and can quickly get in position to stop plays in the flats."
That kind of speed would fit well in Oregon's defensive culture as a whole, making Saturday's recruiting pitch a big one for Mark Helfrich and the Ducks.
