The Oregon Ducks have plenty to be proud about despite a less-than-desirable ending in the inaugural College Football Playoff Championship Game. Head coach Mark Helfrich and the Ducks' coaching staff are hard at work on the recruiting trail in search of the pieces that will bring Oregon's elusive first national title back to Eugene.

Ducks offer 2016 WR Charlie Woerner
247Sports has confirmed that the Oregon Ducks have offered 2016 four-star Tiger (GA) Rabun County wide receiver Charlie Woerner, per one of Woerner's assistant coaches.
The rangy 6-foot-5, 220-pound wide receiver is currently ranked as 247Sports' 107th-overall player in the Class of 2016, and already holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia amongst others.
Helfrich visit the Lone Star State
Head coach Mark Helfrich was at work early on Saturday morning in Texas, visiting safety commit PJ Locke at his house at 7:30 am local time:

Locke committed to the Ducks on July 1st and has shown no signs of wavering since. He took his official visit to Eugene back on September 5th.
Doing work in Louisiana
Prior to heading to Texas for Saturday's work, head coach Mark Helfrich and wide receivers coach Matt Lubick were in Louisiana for one of the biggest in-home visits of this recruiting season with four-star all-purpose running back Kirk Merritt.
The 5-foot-11, 206-pounder's versatility has vaulted to the top of Helfrich's wishlist this recruiting season, but the Ducks will have to contend with offers from Alabama, Auburn, and Texas A&M come National Signing Day.
