Four-star Destrehan (LA) athlete Kirk Merritt is one of the key targets left on the board for head coach Mark Helfrich and the Oregon Ducks, and it appears they won't have to wait until Wednesday's National Signing Day to hear his intentions.
Per Justin Hopkins of 247Sports, "Merritt will make his announcement on Monday, Feb. 2 at 'The Sports Pub' in Destrehan. He will announce his decision at 7 PM local time, which is 5 PM for the West coasters."

The 5-foot-11, 206-pound all-purpose back/wide receiver sent Hopkisn a direct message on Twitter confirming the announcement date, meaning that the Ducks have just over 48 hours to wait in hopes of landing one of the better athletes in the 2015 recruiting class.
Ranked as the nation's 123rd best overall player by 247Sports, Merritt is expected to be a heavy Oregon lean, with the Texas A&M Aggies and LSU Tigers also in the mix.
