Rumors have been flying over the past few days about a reported link between injured Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Braxton Miller and the Oregon Ducks.
With current Buckeyes starting QB JT Barrett playing himself into the conversation next year with an extraordinary 2014 season, speculation has surfaced recently linking Miller to Auburn, Boston College, and the most pervasive rumor of all, Oregon.
However, at this juncture it doesn't appear that Miller has had contact with the Ducks has some had previously assumed.
Here’s John Taylor of NBC’s College Football Talk with the report:
According to The Oregonian, and citing a source with knowledge of the situation, “[t]here has been no contact between Oregon and either Miller or anyone acting on his behalf.” Leading up to the paper knocking down the talk, there was a rumor making the rounds that Miller had let it be known to the UO football program that he had an interest in the school and offensive coordinator Scott Frost followed up on that interest during a recruiting trek a couple of weeks ago. One of the problems with that, the paper notes, is that Frost wasn’t on the recruiting trail at that time.
Just over a week ago, NFL.com reported that Miller plans to “remain at Ohio State and lead the Buckeyes in 2015.” From the looks of the report above, those plans don't seem to have been altered yet.
