The Oregon Ducks' home finale on Saturday will be a bittersweet one win or lose, with a multitude of Ducks players suiting up for their last game on the Autzen Stadium turf.
One of the players likely to be playing in his farewell game in Eugene is Heisman hopeful quarterback Marcus Mariota.
“It’s tough to kind of think about those things because it can become a distraction. For the most part, I understand to just enjoy it, enjoy it with these seniors,” Mariota said, via Ryan Thorburn of the Register-Guard. “A lot of these guys that are going to be leaving as seniors are the closest friends that I’ve made here. It’s going to be an awesome experience. Autzen is always fun to play in."
Mariota, a redshirt junior, hasn't declared his intent to leave for the NFL after the season. However, with most projections lining him up as the #1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, all signs are pointing to 2014 being Mariota's Oregon swansong.
“No matter what, we’ll enjoy it," Mariota said.
The faithful at Autzen are likely enjoy it as well.
