Washington came into Saturday night's game against Oregon with dreams of pulling off the upset in Autzen Stadium, and those dreams were still alive after the first quarter as they only trailed 7-6.
However, Oregon's high-powered offense scored the next four touchdowns of the game, turning this into a 35-6 blowout. The Ducks put it on cruise control from that point on, holding on for the victory.
Turning Point: Oregon was winning 21-6 late in the first half, but Washington was still in the game. Running back Byron Marshall took care of that, scoring an incredible touchdown to put the Ducks up 28-6 at halftime and turning this game into a blowout.
Key Stat: The Ducks averaged over 10 yards per pass on the night, while Washington averaged under five. It really shows the disparity in how the offenses played in this game - Oregon was able to get a lot of big plays and move the ball up and down the field, while the Huskies continually struggled to maintain drives.
Oregon MVP: Freshman running back Royce Freeman had a huge breakout game for the Ducks, running the ball 29 times for 169 yards and four touchdowns.
Washington MVP: No one on the Huskies really stood out and made a difference in this game, so no one gets the award. Quarterback Cyler Miles played well (147 yards, 1 TD), but had to leave in the second half due to injury.
What’s Next? Oregon has a tricky Friday night game at Cal as the Ducks try to keep pace in the Pac-12 North, while Washington will try and regroup against Arizona State.
