No this is not an end of the world joke, the rumors appear true that Chip Kelly might really leave Oregon for the NFL.
Over the last several years, Kelly has been linked to a number of NFL teams but has consistently denied all of these rumors. It was thought last summer that he might leave Eugene for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but that did not pan out.
What might cause Kelly to leave for Oregon for real this offseason is that the Ducks are in some serious hot water with the NCAA. Additionally, Kelly seems to be at nerves with many of the major boosters and faculty in Eugene.

"A number of substantial Oregon football boosters, many of whom requested anonymity, expressed a widespread annoyance with Kelly," John Locanthi of Willamette Week reported. "The coach with the highest winning percentage (45-7, 86.5 percent) among BCS conference coaches is at odds with many of those closest to the Oregon program.
If Kelly is to leave Oregon, he will most likely go to Philadelphia and coach the Eagles. This would be a very interesting move because it would be very exciting to see what he can do with a mobile QB like Mike Vick... If they do not trade him this offseason.
