The Oregon Ducks host the Cal Golden Bears in a battle of 4-3 teams that were ranked at some point this season. The Ducks are coming off back-to-back wins for the first time this season, and they'll make it three straight against California. Here are three reasons why Oregon is guaranteed to beat Cal this weekend.
Cal Is Struggling
The Golden Bears started the season hot, with five consecutive wins. Since then, Cal has struggled with three straight losses. The offense put up 30-plus points in each of the first five games, but has failed to top 24 since. California's confidence is shaken, and the Bears won't regain it on the road against Oregon.
Jared Goff's Turnovers
Goff is very talented, but he makes his share of mistakes. The offense leans on him heavily, which is part of the reason he's struggled the past few weeks. In his last three games, Goff has eclipsed 300 yards just once and thrown 7 INTs. However, he's thrown 7 TDs as well. Goff will make plays against Oregon, but he'll also make mistakes. Oregon will capitalize on those, and pick up a win in the process. As talented as Goff is, he can't single-handedly carry Cal to a win over Oregon.
Vernon Adams vs. Cal Defense
Adams has missed or been limited in four games this season, and the Ducks are 1-3 in those games. He's a talented playmaker, as shown by his 4-touchdown game against Arizona State. The California defense has major issues, and Adams could be in for a big day. He's talented and can do damage on the ground and through the air. The Oregon offense is simply deadlier with Adams at QB. With Adams healthy, Oregon won't lose to Cal.
