Olympic figure skating champion Yuna Kim donated $100,000 to Nepal earthquake relief, according to UNICEF.
The death toll from the 7.8-magnitude earthquake Saturday eclipsed 5,000 on Tuesday, according to NBC News. It’s the worst quake to hit the Himalayan nation in nearly a century.
Kim, 24, retired after earning a silver medal at the Sochi 2014 Olympics and became an ambassador for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Games.
International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach said Monday that the IOC will help Nepal “build infrastructure” and “revive the Olympic movement” following the earthquake damage, according to The Associated Press.
