Belarus police have confirmed they found the body of former Olympic sprinter Yulia Balykina, who had been missing since Oct. 28.
Per Agence France-Presse (h/t Associated Press, for the Daily Mail), her body was found covered and concealed in the woodlands near the capital, Minsk. Police spokesman Alexander Turban revealed it had been wrapped in cellophane: “It was wrapped in plastic wrap and carefully covered with moss.”
A suspect identified as Dmitry V. has been placed into custody on suspicion of murder. According to the investigators, the two shared an apartment and were in a relationship in the past.
