Both of Team USA’s representatives competing Sunday in Greco Roman weight classes won opening bouts before being eliminated from medal contention.

The 24-year-old Wisconsin man dominated Messaoudi in the 59kg weight class, winning with 8 class points and 4 technical points.

But Azerbaijan’s Rovshan Bayramov flipped that on its ear in Thielke’s follow-up, topping the American 9-0 to move onto the semifinal.

Later, Minnesota 29-year-old Andy Bisek advanced in a tighter match versus Cuba’s Yurisandy Hernandez. His second period point was enough to win 1-0 in the 75kg class.

But Bisek ran into a tough fight with Croatia’s Bou017eo Staru010deviu0107, losing 2-0 in the next round.
