History was made Sunday in Beijing at the 2022 Winter Olympics when American speedskater Erin Jackson won gold in the 500 meters.
Jackson, 29, became the first Black woman to win gold in an individual sport at the Winter Olympics, according to U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee historian Bill Mallon.
