RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Day two of the Rio Games proved a breeze for the Chinese shooters, who won yet another gold medal in the women's air pistol. Nasty winds forced delays on the tennis courts and whipped up treacherous waves in the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
Sunday's rowing regatta was called off after a two-hour delay following a pair of capsizes in the choppy seas during the morning practice. Race officials said winds gusting up to 34 mph (15 meters per second) pushed buoys into the lanes and capsized two boats during morning practice.
Wind also complicated racing on Saturday when Serbia's men's pair capsized and other competitors struggled to keep their boats from taking on the filthy water .
