As the one year out mark quickly approaches, the Olympic Park is moving closer to reality.
This new aerial video shows the venues in their current states, under heavy construction, alongside computer-generated images of how the park will look when the Games are underway in August 2016.
Barra, the main Olympic park, will be home to nine venues and 16 sports, including gymnastics, swimming, basketball, diving and track cycling. Two of the venues, the Maria Lenk Aquatics Center and Rio Olympic Arena, are already completed as they were built for the 2007 Pan-American Games.
From a bird’s eye view, the biggest change will be the colors of the park.
