Ibtihaj Muhammad will make U.S. history this morning when she hits the blue piste.
The American fencer from New Jersey will become the first U.S. Olympian to compete while wearing the hijab, the traditional Muslim head covering.
Her competition is part of a busy day of sabre fencing which will conclude with the semifinal, bronze medal and gold medal bouts in the afternoon.
