One night after countrymen Alison and Bruno Schmidt took gold in beach volleyball, Brazil’s indoor volleyball team will have the chance to do the same.
In front of a sold-out crowd at the Maracanãzinho Brazil sealed its spot in the gold medal match with a straight set victory over Russia, winning 25-21, 25-20, 25-17. Wallace (13 kills) and Ricardo Lucarelli (ten kills) both reached double figures in kills, and setter Bruno Mossa did a good job of setting up his teammates throughout the match as Brazil moves one step closer to their first Olympic gold medal in men’s indoor volleyball since 2004.
